Check the status, not just the certificate. On the API Composite List a
company can appear with a status of Applicant, Expired, Suspended, Canceled or Withdrawn — none of which
authorises use of the API marks. A certificate shown without a live status check proves nothing, and API
publishes a separate list of certificates it never issued at all.

This builder describes document types and who holds them. It does not assert that any named supplier holds any particular licence. Licence status is verifiable by anyone on the API Composite List by company name, certificate number and specification — and only the status “Active” authorises use of the API marks.
