Material, Service-Condition and Final-Condition Review
Material decisions start with the duty, not a generic grade list. The enquiry should state the product family, requested grade, connection, temperature, pressure or load, and any sour-service or corrosion requirement. Those inputs are compared with the drawing, and the agreed material basis is placed in the quotation.

Surface Protection and Final-Condition Controls
Surface treatment is quoted against the product, transport route and service condition. State the required coating or protection system, colour, thickness or roughness target, protected interfaces and packing restrictions. The quotation then records what is included, who performs it and which inspection record is supplied.
Keep sealing faces, threads and gauging surfaces separate from general coating instructions.
State whether hardness, roughness, coating thickness or visual acceptance requires a report.

Inspection planning is agreed before production. Each quotation identifies the material certificate, dimensional report and order-specific NDT reports included with the shipment, together with any buyer or third-party witness point.
