API 16C Choke & Kill Hose — Supplier Verification Checklist
Before you buy a well-control line, run any supplier — including Welong — through these checks. Tap each item you can confirm; the count shows how much of the claim is actually documented.
Published bend radius by pressure class
The spec that decides whether the line physically routes between the stack and the manifold — often left blank.
Minimum burst stated, not just test pressure
Test is 1.5× working; burst should be published too (Welong: 2.25×). A test figure alone hides the safety margin.
Fire-test parameter, not just “fire resistant”
API 16C requires thermocouples to reach at least 704°C (1300°F) with no leakage under working pressure. Ask for the figure, not the adjective.
FSL rating with supporting documentation
API 16C defines FSL 0 to FSL 3. Ask which level, and for the evidence behind it — do not take the number on faith.
Sour-service scope named (NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156)
“H2S capable” should map to a named standard and material scope, provided on request.
Verifiable API licence or third-party inspection
An API monogram is checkable in API’s public Composite List, and API publishes a fraud-alert list of certificates it never issued. Third-party inspection (SGS/DNV) is available on request.
