Quality Control Test Stack — What Each Method Verifies

Every Welong forged shaft runs through this 9-method QC stack. Click any test to see what it checks for and why it’s in the sequence.

  • Verifies the forging’s elemental makeup matches the specified grade — the first check against a mixed-heat or off-spec material before it goes further down the line.

  • Confirms forged and machined dimensions match your drawing’s tolerances, reported against your drawing rather than a generic catalog size.

  • Identifies internal discontinuities — voids, inclusions or forging bursts — that aren’t visible on the surface, using sound waves passed through the material.

  • Detects cracks on or near the surface that could originate from an imprecisely controlled die transition or a poorly designed corner of a forged part.

  • Checks the forging for surface defects, marking and finish quality before it ships.

  • Pulls a sample to failure to confirm yield strength, tensile strength and elongation meet the specified grade.

  • Examines a polished cross-section under magnification to confirm grain flow is aligned with the part’s contour and not cutting across it — the direct verification behind a forged shaft’s fatigue-resistance claim.

  • Measures the material’s toughness — its energy absorption on impact — typically at a specified test temperature relevant to the shaft’s service conditions.

  • Confirms the machined surface finish meets the drawing’s roughness requirement before final inspection sign-off.
